Service Description
Pre-registration fee required. The Certified Medication Aide course is designed for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who want to expand their skills and take on greater responsibility in patient care. This comprehensive program provides in-depth training on the safe administration of medications in long-term care and assisted living settings. Students will learn how to prepare, administer, and document medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The course covers medication classifications, dosage calculations, side effects, proper storage, and state regulations. Emphasis is placed on patient safety, infection control, and ethical responsibilities. Through a combination of classroom instruction, skills lab practice, and clinical experience, participants will gain the confidence and competence needed to support healthcare teams and improve patient outcomes. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to sit for the state certification exam and advance their healthcare careers with expanded opportunities and increased earning potential.
